i currently took out my first set of dreads because i used wax and i didnt like it, i wanted a more natural approach.ive been considering doing a method i seen on youtube, using a crochet hook not only for maintenace, but to actually form the dread. (heres a couple links to videos of crocheting dreads.) ca.youtube.com/watch or ca.youtube.com/watch i wanna know, what exactly do they do in this method?, and is there anyone whos tried this method with success or who has failed trying? or is there better methods i could/should try.

You will get the tightest dreads using this method as the crochet hook will pull the hair into the dread really good (it also depends on the person making the dread).

So, which part in more detail you wish to pursue?

all I did was stop combing my hair, i waited tll it knotted up at the ends and i palm rolled it toward the scalp according to the natural knots, if they were too big i ripped them, i have almost full dreadlocks after 6 weeks, no wax!! and i am caucasion

i dont worry too much about frizz and loose hairs they eventually knot up just be patient :)
