Re: One dreadlock
Mon, February 2, 2009 - 11:44 AMAlthough I personally haven't had to worry about employment with my dreads yet (my time will come up soon), since you don't have them yet, you may want to bring the idea up to your employer. Be sure to make sure they are aware of the facts/myths about dreads. Good luck and let us know! -

Re: One dreadlock
Sat, February 14, 2009 - 12:12 PMWell there are lots of willingly doers but be careful.Like tatoos you have to find whats just right and it may take some experimenting to perfect the magical you.To me its not about culture but more of personal statement with flair. If you could have seen some of my past hair-I'm surprised I did'nt get hog tied by the police and get a proper trim.Besides at my age,the stress and gray hair and all-it came un done, colored and actually the thickness and curls came back-does'nt impress vary many unless its under the ball cap and I'm saying yes sir,no ma'm..oh no officer I would believe there are people like that.
PS-upon Ashville, its a must place, even short term.I was there for my B-Day in January, awesome place to live. -

Tue, February 17, 2009 - 8:19 AMyeah!.?,we want to move there ,and have decided to move next fall,I have lived in vermont my whole life, and am just now getting sick of the tundra like cold, and snowy seasons,i guess once you become an adult it just isn't fun any more ,,at least for me that's the case,i like snow in moderation,,,well dreads update,,i now have five VERY long dreads, black like my hair, but they are extensions,I made them myself, they are permenent,(not going to get them out),,I sewed them in,first I dreaded my hair, then made some extensions, they look so real, theni sewed them into my real,pre-existing dreads, with needle and thread, instant gratification,I wish i had some friends around here who wanted dread maintanance,,or instant perfect dreads,i back comb,or rip and twist,(gently),then, I sew them all round to make them lock up instantly,I did alot of web searching, and I made this technique that is all my own,and i wash them everyother day,,,it's realy great,i am happy, they reach to the small of my back, very lond dreadies,

Re: One dreadlock
Wed, February 11, 2009 - 11:02 AMGood for you! Do what makes you happy and the rest, you will see, will fall in line! I'm a Nurse and started my dreads while I was working in ICU. I keep them clean and my attitude towards them (the dreads), and other people, professional! I don't believe we are our hair, we are our souls that lie within! Be who you are and the rest will come to you! Blessings
