Everyone always says its quite strange that I have one dread...just one on the right side of my hair. I used to have long dreads and then combed them out I still miss them but I also missed playing with my hair (having a 3 year old who wants to brush mommy's hair dosnt work too well with dreads) so I was wondering does anyone else out there just have one dread?

Tue, January 13, 2009 - 4:09 PMI've heard of people getting one or two dreads just to see what it's like before they decide if they want to take the plunge into full dreadhead. I also think it is nice in a slightly melancholy way to keep one last dread as a memento.
Does the other loose hair seem to want to bond with and join into the single dread? -

Wed, January 14, 2009 - 3:08 PMoccasionally...but I'm addicted to conditioner so its quite hard for it to stick. It does seem to be getting pretty thin up at the start so I'm afraid I'm going to lose it soon.

Wed, January 14, 2009 - 11:25 AMI had a full head for over a year. When I combed them out I kept two behind my right ear (like a little dready padawan). I don't think it's strange, but I think a lot of people have an all or nothing mentality when it comes to hair.
I'm in the same boat, I miss my dreads, but having them let me fully embrace and accept my crazy, curly hair. So now I'm doubly blessed that I can enjoy both curls and dreads at the same time. -

Wed, January 21, 2009 - 1:52 PMRecently took all mine out,got rid of the grey and the process actually inproved my hair quality,its thick again.....now whether to do dreads again,I,m about the one strand,perhaps with a bead or two like our infamous Captain Jack Sparrow.I already have curly hair and in a day or two without the brush, I get the locks.So a strand and curls gets my thumbs up.No locks-I,m a dude moreless an elder one at that.

It's my favorite.
