i'm gonna soon begin a new set of locks, and i was wondering what would be a good length for my hair if im using the back comb crochet method? i was planning on letting it grow out to be about 6-7 inches. does that sound okay?

Re: good length before locking?
Sun, August 10, 2008 - 6:32 AMI usually say five inches minimum....longer than that's fine!

Sun, August 10, 2008 - 2:40 PM3 inches minimum, maybe 4 if you're a limp haired blonde.
I say that because that way you can palm roll easier (cause they're shorter) and by the time they get real nice, your hair will be long enough to tie back.
It's good size for wearing a beanie or bandana to bed too.
No shorter though - unless your black... they can start from 1" -
