sand in dreads

A couple days ago, I was at one of my buddies bachelor parties and we were heading out to a strip club. Unbeknownst to me, I had to ride in the back of his truck down a major highway. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of sand back there and I'm pretty sure alot of it is now caked on my scalp, not to mention inside my dreads. I finally washed today pretty thorough and scrubbed like a mother fucker. Once they were dry, I could still feel some of the sand on my scalp. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do to get ride of this fucking sand. Maybe wash more often for a while. Let me know what you guys think.

Try having a soak in a tub. Just lay back and float 'em in the water for a while, and rub your scalp a bit while you soak. The sand might have a better chance of settling this way, instead of having to wash through the entire length of your hair. Other than that, I can't see sand really hurting anything. Maybe it'll all loosen itself after a few washes.

    Haa dude.

I went surfing a couple of months back and got sand in my dreads as well. A few hair washes and the sands are bye bye. They will be gone sooner or later.
