alright. so i began on a natural dreadlocks journey. october 13 will be one month (based on a bike acident i had and found it hard to brush or dry my hair when i got out of the shower lol). anyways, my hair is already very nappy. i wash my hair every third day and and dotn use ANY chemicals or products in my hair. so aside from obviously doing nothing to my natural dreadies, is there any tips that someone can give me to help the process? ex. when i get out of the shower i towel dry my hair in a clockwise motion. that makes my hair VERY matty, then i kinda just pull it apart in sections. is this bad? or is it helping it lock? please help! :)

Re: natural dreadies...
Thu, October 16, 2008 - 11:40 PMyes, sounds good, my locks are all natural, a little over 3 years, i've done very little, just pulling apart when needed. although now ive begun to let some of the little ones grow together into fattys. I went through some really awkward stages and at time it wasnt the prettiest thing in the world, but i am very pleased now. and stolked that i kept it natural. I washed my hair like usual in the beginning but now like once or twice a week. I use regular shampoo, well, i make sure it's organic. they all good. one thing i wish i would have done differently is really put loving intentions and positive into the start of them. but thats someting i def. do now. Just let em be what they will be, then you can observe how your hair was always meant to be, its amazing. blessings:) -

Re: natural dreadies...
Fri, October 17, 2008 - 9:54 AMI reccommend using a shampoo bar using all natural ingredients. Liquid shampoo will leave residue on your dreads no matter how thoroughly you rinse them. I also reccommend using aloe vera gel to tame the frizzies and strengthen your dreads. -
