Hi, my name is Nika. I’m 18 years old. I’m a brand new member and I got my first set of dreads over the weekend! I have 52 baby dreads and I’m so happy with them :). My dad and I did them ... well it was mostly him, but I helped with the ones I could. We didn’t use any wax, just some Lock Peppa and Locking Accelerator from Dread Head HQ. My hair was a curly-curly, fuzzy, poofy mess much of the time. It looked pretty much exactly the same right after I woke as it did right after I washed and “styled” it... Haha. I loved my curls, but it was just time for a change. I wanted my dreadlock journey to symbolize the personal journey I started recently.

I did a lot of reading through this forum before deciding to get dreadlocks. You guys had a lot of helpful suggestions and interesting stories. If you think there’s anything I should really know about baby dreadlocks or whatever, please tell me. I’m happy to hear any advice. Or, if you have any questions for me, I like talking ;).
