Snowboarding with Dreads

Hey, im an avid snowboarder, ive heard some people say that wind will help dreads lock up. I'm planning on redreading my hair very shortly so i was wondering if it would be okay to just maybe get one of them head band thingy's that cover my ears and just leave my dreads out as i rip down the mountain side?

    i did that... not sure about the whole wind helping the locks though...

    the headbands work great anyway, its hard for me to find a hat that fits properly now...
